Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of children from three through adolescence, introduced in Canada more than 25 years ago. This work began in Rome over 50 years ago using a method that links scripture and liturgy. It is deeply respectful of the nature of young children as they make their way to God in freedom and joy!
'This new kind of catechesis' will be introduced to the children and their families this September 2008. There are currently eleven catechists in training from five English Catholic Parishes. These parishes consist of; Corpus Christi, the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption, St. Rita, St. Peter the Apostle and St. Alphonsus in Callandar. Children from Holy Name of Jesus Parish, will also be included in the up and coming registration for September 2008.
